They offer the most luxury options, top treatments, and colors we have available for blinds.

Why Choose Real Wood Blinds? The Natural Difference

Premium Wood blinds are more than just window coverings, they are a design statement. Each blind is crafted from genuine hardwoods and continues to enhance your interior with real character, depth and warmth!

Genuine Basswood – Lightweight, Strong & Beautifully Grained

Made from high quality North American Basswood, our wood blinds are considered the best material for real wood window blinds. Basswood is preferred for its very fine, straight grain, which takes a nice stain and can be honey oak to espresso mahogany. Because it is light, basswood is a better option than other faux wood materials for wide windows, and doesn’t require bowing or bending to operate. Slats cut crossways (grainwise), are very stable and do not warp over the years.

Sustainably Sourced from Eco-Certified Forests

Beautiful homes and a healthy planet, we believe in both. You’ll receive real wood, but without the guilt of deforestation, as our hardwood is from an eco-certified sustainable harvest from the forest. To keep the colour and grain from fading with the sun and to keep your investment looking pristine for many years, each blind was treated with a multi coat UV resistant application.

Precision Light Control & Privacy You Can Rely On

Real wood slats provide a fantastic rigidity, so they maintain the angle exactly when tilted; providing you have exact control about how the light enters your room. Our wood blinds come with firm and stable slats that provide consistent, reliable performance, unlike fabric or vinyl blinds that can be inconsistent.

The Elegance of Perfect Wood Blinds

The Perfect Wood Blinds we offer are created from the same premium hardwood used in our renowned Perfect Wood Shutters. This choice of material speaks volumes about our commitment to quality and sustainability. Selected for its striking grain, resilience, and eco-friendly attributes, our hardwood elevates the charm of every blind.

Beyond their environmental appeal, Perfect Wood Blinds also stand out for their unmatched quality and luxurious options. Our collection offers a variety of top treatments and colors, ensuring our blinds can seamlessly blend with any decor style.

Choosing Your Slat Size: 2″ vs 2½” — What’s Right for You?

The width of slats is one of the most critical decisions you will make, as it will impact the look and scale of your blinds while they are open and the amount of light that they allow to pass through.

  • 2″ slats — Very popular size for real wood blinds, versatile, classic and fits most windows and interior design. The 2″ size creates a layered effect and provides a great level of light control. Ideal for bedroom, home office, dining room and living room.
  • 2½” slats — Wider slats offer a bolder, more architectural appearance; closer in style to plantation shutters. They work great on larger windows, patio doors, and formal rooms where you don’t want to have to deal with too many slat lines when looking out the window. A good value alternative to the wood-shutter style.

Customise Your Look – Finishes, Stains & Decorative Upgrades

Another great benefit of real wood blinds over their synthetic counterparts is the level of customisation they can offer.

Stain Finishes: Natural wood finishes come in a variety of light to dark maple, golden oak, to deep walnut and espresso colors. Wood-grain stains lend a natural look to the basswood, complementing hardwood floors or timber furniture beautifully.

Painted Finishes: Prefer a clean, contemporary look? We have a selection of painted colours available, including crisp whites, warm creams and neutral greys, which will complement contemporary interiors and painted window frames.

Decorative Cloth Tapes: Replace lift cords with cloth tapes that hang on the slats of blinds. Not only do they look designer-ready and alluringly tailored, they also help to control light gaps between slats, and they can be used to create more privacy – and they’re a favorite in bedrooms.

Valances & Cornice Boards: Add a matching wood valance or upholstered cornice board to complete your window treatment and create a truly finished interior-designer look.

Dining Rooms

Match dining room blinds to the dining room furniture for an elegant, consistent dining area. Real wood takes a formal room to the next level with its architectural character, which faux wood cannot match.

Important note: Real Wood blinds are not suitable in bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms due to moisture and humidity. If you’re looking for something similar, but still moisture resistant, you can use our Cordless Faux Wood Blinds for those rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions About Real Wood Blinds

Q: What wood are your premium blinds made from?

We make our blinds from 100% North American basswood, which is the standard for real wood window blinds. The light weight, tight grain and excellent stain and paint retention characteristics are valuable qualities of basswood.

Quality basswood blinds don’t generally warp in dry, indoor settings. All our slats are finished with a multi-coat UV-inhibiting process to protect against sun fade and moisture fluctuation. We do not recommend real wood in high-humidity settings such as bathrooms or kitchens – our faux wood collection is ideal for such environments.

Yes – real wood blinds will be much lighter than faux wood (PVC) blinds, usually 40-50% lighter. This allows them to be more readily used on large windows, and helps to decrease wear and tear on the headrail hardware over time.

Yes. Wood is a natural insulator. Closed wood blinds create an extra barrier at your window that helps retain warmth in winter and block heat in summer — contributing to better energy efficiency in your home.

Absolutely. One of the most sought-after customizations for real wood blinds is decorative cloth tapes. These take the place of the typical lift-cord routing holes, making the curtains more stylish and private. There’s a variety of tape colors and designs that we have to suit every interior.

Regularly use a soft micro fibre cloth or feather duster to dust (slats up and down, dust, then dust down and up again). Damp a little to apply a mark and dry straight away. Do not immerse or soak wood blinds because moisture can damage the quality of the finish.

Yes. Responsible forestry practices, our hardwood is taken from eco-certified and sustainably managed forests. Real wood is also a long-term, more environmentally friendly option when compared to its synthetic alternatives.
